Estee Lauder has attempted to make “warm tones of sun-baked nudes and rose, lit with glimmers of gold look flattering on every skin tone.” It is a collection of “rose golds” with “glimmers”(AKA big pieces of shimmer flakes). It is a pretty, neutral collection and I imagine that it will really work for many people. It’s sexy in a Victoria’s Secret supermodel way, I mean just look at bronzed up Hilary Rhoda, the model above. I say that it will not work on all skin tones. But, if you have warm… Continue reading
MAC describes Pigment in Old Gold as “frosted tarnished gold”, the picture online looks like an antiqued gold – like an heirloom locket. Above the pigment is smeared on my hand dry. It is a really vivid metallic. I wouldn’t describe it as a gold at all. It is more of a melange of rust, gold, blue, green, teal pigment particles. It is a creamy super shimmery formula that once applied to the lid turns more powdery and budge proof. It looks wonderful with powder shadows layered over and it makes a great shadow base. They do not make the lids feel oily. There are alot of colors to choose from. I have a… Continue reading | 2 Comments
This is truly a regal and beautiful color collection. Chantecaille is the best because it seems that they are always plastering wildlife onto cosmetics. I love it. This “collection” offers three lovely compacts.
We have the White Tiger Face Powder Compact. It is a light slightly shimmery face powder enriched with Monoi. I love monoi. The powder has a lovely white tiger on it and is in a beautiful gold mirrored case. It retails for $85. For those of us that want some “color” in the dead of winter, we have the Bengali Bronzer
