Chris Rusak Timbre Perfume Review

Chris Rusak Timbre perfume

I genuinely enjoy writing about perfume and my impressions of them. However, it’s a bit difficult for me to write about Timbre from indie brand Chris Rusak. Why? Because the brand’s description is absolutely accurate. EauMG has existed since 2008 and I can only remember a few perfumes that I’ve tried where I thought the brand did a better job of explaining the perfume than I could or any other perfume blogger/writer/hobbyist could. I’m not being arrogant. Let’s be real, most perfume descriptions are minimal or try to sell you on… Continue reading | 4 Comments

Amouage Beach Hut Man Perfume Review

Amouage Beach Hut Man

Life is a beach, but Amouage Beach Hut Man isn’t. Or at least it’s not some tropical floral/coconut/”Margaritaville” beach. Nor is it some sea-breeze aquatic that I typically call “blue juice” when I’m referring to perfumes. I just really wanted to get that out of the way. With a name like “Beach Hut Man”¹, people may try this wanting/expecting coconut and salt water. EauMG’s Perfume Guide to Pantone’s Color of the Year 2017 – Greenery

Pantone Greenery

It’s said that the 2017 Pantone® Color of the Year Greenery is inspired by the first days of spring. It’s meant to represent renewal and connecting with nature. I like all colors, because with color it’s more about their relationship with other colors than the color itself. However, I’m not really feeling this shade of green. I don’t like the shade. It comes across as tech-y or like a start-up color but that is very right now. I started to see this aggressively… Continue reading | 29 Comments

Ayala Moriel Lost Lagoon Natural Perfume Review

Ayala Moriel Lost Lagoon

Lately I’ve been taking a short break from my usual roses and white florals and wearing chypres. The deal is that I don’t own many chypres so this makes me dig through my samples. I remembered that there was an Ayala Moriel perfume launched this year that I tried in the summer that screamed “MOSS”, Lost Lagoon.

Lost Lagoon opens as a bitter citrus with greens. There’s an aquatic/brine thing going on in the opening. The heart is a green floral chypre. It’s like dry… Continue reading | 4 Comments

Eric Buterbaugh FLORALS Apollo (Hyacinth) Perfume Review

Eric Buterbaugh Apollo Hyacinth

Seven Days of Eric Buterbaugh*

Eric Buterbaugh is a well-known floral designer based in Los Angeles. Last year, he launched a line of perfumes, Eric Buterbaugh FLORALS, inspired by the medium he knows best – flowers. The Noses work with Firmenich, creating many of my most-worn perfumes from designer to niche. I’m dedicating a week to reviewing this line because like Eric Buterbaugh, I too love florals.

In the real world of flowers, my favorite fragrance is hyacinth –… Continue reading | 4 Comments
