The newest perfume in the Alphabetical Series from INeKe is a fragrance inspired by the natural beauty of a little mountain town in Southern California, Idyllwild. It’s an aromatic fougère bringing together the fauna of the San Jancito mountains – evergreens, more evergreens and sage.
Idyllwild opens as lemons and evergreens. The evergreens are fresh, bright and living. There’s a a fruity tartness (rhubarb) and a freshly ground black pepper. I also get hits of fresh ginger. Mainstream Monday – Sniffing Popular Perfumes
I’m trying to spend some time this summer organizing and going through all my mess. I’m attempting to organize beauty stuff, which is not easy. I don’t have much space (oh, and I have too much stuff). I’m also trying to organize perfume samples (this is not easy because I still can’t figure out a system that makes sense). I thought I’d knock out a few Mainstream Monday: The Masculine Edition reviews. Today I’m sniffing two Hugo Boss scents from the 90’s:
I have perfume samples that I forget that I have. I think if sniffing perfumes is your hobby, then you can relate. It makes me a bit embarrassed to admit this. First, it makes me feel a hoarder. Secondly, it makes me feel ungrateful for people giving me things to sniff and then I don’t. Neither is true, well, don’t mention the hoarding thing to anyone that has ever lived with me. Sweet Anthem has launched two new masculines in their summer The Great Northern Collection, Walden and Cooper.
Walden contains notes of petit grain, white pepper, vintage florals, ambergris and oakmoss.
Walden opens with tart citrus, fruits and florals. It’s a bitter, green floral with peachy aldehydes. Now green florals can go in a few directions like a dewy “spring” floral or “cool”, Walden doesn’t go in this direction. It has depth and underneath there is some “darkness” from earthy mosses.
