Diptyque Oyedo Perfume Review

Diptyque Oyedo

After a hiatus due to moving and traveling, I have decided to bombard this perfume blog with “weird eau de colognes” this week. It’s hot, humid and gross. I want to smell fresh and clean but with something that is a little more interesting than the usual. Like Mugler Hot Cologne, Diptyque Oyédo is a citrus with a twist.

Oyedo opens as a juicy, fruity orange mingling with a juicy lemon. There’s definitely something cool and mentholated in this that reminds me of a cough… Continue reading

The Lipstick League – week of 4.1.13

Question of the Week – When it comes to haircare, what types of styling products do you use on a daily basis (if any at all)?

EauMG’s Answer: I don’t wash my hair daily because my hair is so thick and dry. I do curl my hair frequently but I don’t use heat appliances. I pin curl or bust out the meemaw foam rollers. And then I hairspray the hell out of my hair. When I wear

Ylang in Gold is a tropical… Continue reading | 1 Comment

Esther Williams New Year's Eve

The Lipstick League – week of 12.26.11

Happy New Year! Wishing only the best in 2012!

Question of the Week: – Is there a product you discovered in 2011 that has now achieved Holy Grail status? If so, what is it? If not, are you optimistic about any new 2012 releases?

EauMG’s Answer: No real Holy Grails for me in the makeup department. I rediscovered some lovely red lipsticks and I’m still searching for the HG mascara. However, there

More of the 1950’s: Get The Look of a Wintery Esther Williams

Esther Williams Screenland

This 1949 pic of Esther is a bit grainy but she is still looking great. This gal transitions nicely from mermaid to snow bunny. This is how you get this wintery look:

FACE: Esther’s complexion is luminous even in the harsh winter air. Apply an illuminating foundation during these “dull” times. A nice one with more coverage is Clarins True Radiance Foundation. Apply an illuminating concealer under the eye area if needed. Almay Bright Eyes Concealer + Eye Base is… Continue reading | 1 Comment
