Hiram Green is a small line of natural, artisanal fragrances that I’d describe as “slow fragrances”. I compare them to Slow Food where you can taste the difference because of the ingredients used and the time put into them. This isn’t a brand that launches a new fragrance every six weeks. It’s a line that embraces natural ingredients and doesn’t launch fragrances until they’re “just right”.
I think we all have perfumes in our collection that make us feel more glamorous than our realities allow us to be. I have quite a few, especially since I’m a realist that’s in denial. However, I do love a glamorous perfume.
Fleurs d’Oranger is one of those Godzilla orange blossoms. It’s unapologetically heady, floral and indolic. It’s one of those syrupy orange blossoms. Parfums DelRae Boid de Paradis is a jammy, spicy amber with incense. It’s an interesting fragrance because it can remind me of hot, lazy late summers and other times it reminds me of luxury and dark lipstick wearing 1930’s starlets. I tend to like “chameleon scents”.
