A Few LUSH Bar Soap Reviews

LUSH bar soaps

I can’t think of a more “hit or miss” brand for me than LUSH. They are one of those brands that produces some of my favorite products while also producing some of my most detested products.

I usually avoid their bar soaps just because of their price. They’re much more expensive than other artisanal soaps that I purchase from various indie lines. I love bar soap but the reality is that a bar of soap will not last as long as a bottle of shower gel… Continue reading | 8 Comments

Indult Manakara EDP Perfume Review

Indult Manakara

After sampling Manakara many times, I didn’t really understand it’s purpose or why it exists at all. It’s a gourmand, candy rose – like a heavily edited Aquolina Pink Sugar. After sampling it many more times, I realize that it doesn’t have to have a purpose. I feel like this was Kurkdjian having some fun. It seems like his attempt at making perfumes for 10 year old girls or for those that are kids at heart.

Aquolina Pink Sugar EDT Perfume Review

Aquolina Pink Sugar

Mainstream Monday – Sniffing a Popular Perfume

Poor, poor Pink Sugar.

Aquolina Pink Sugar seems to be the go-to phrase that some people use when they are calling a fragrance disgusting. Spray a scent (any scent) on a blotter and if the perfumista says “Pink Sugar” then that means it’s over. That means the perfume is viewed as too sweet, too feminine, too childish. And that means the perfume sucks and represents everything wrong with the world.  I’ve avoided this review for years because of… Continue reading | 19 Comments

Comptoir Sud Pacifique Vanille Abricot EDT Fragrance Review

Comptoir Sud Pacifique Vanille Abricot

<Please insert carnival music here>

Vanille Abricot smells exactly like cotton candy. I know fragrance reviwers and critics love to throw around that term: cotton candy. They seem to use it to describe any fragrance that may be sugary or sweet, and they usually say it in a snobby tone. I don’t throw “cotton candy” around. Vanille Abricot seriously smells just like cotton candy. Pink, fluffy cotton candy.

Urban Rituelle Sweet Treats Cotton Candy Soap Bar Review

Urban Rituelle Cotton Candy Soap Review

Urban Rituelle Sweet Treats Cotton Candy Soap is a vegetable based soap with skin conditioning vegetable oils, cocoa butter, glycerin, and Vitamin E. It’s a very fragrant bar soap. At first I was turned off by the idea of soap smelling like cotton candy. What adult woman wants to wash their body with a carnival treat? OK, don’t answer that. You know what I mean 🙂 Urban Rituelle Soap in Cotton Candy is sweet but not very candy-like in my opinion… Continue reading | 2 Comments
