The Lipstick League – week of 5.16.16

Question of the Week: Do you use color correcting complexion products (like powders, primers or concealers)? If so, which ones do you use?

EauMG’s Answer: I use basic ‘ole concealer daily, mainly for under my eyes. I do own a few of those “color correcting” products in shades of green marketed to help with redness from Korean brands (i.e. The Face Shop, Nature Republic, Missha) and Shiseido. I don’t know if it is just me or my

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder Review

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder is not a highlighting powder; it’s a finishing powder. I’ve been on a search for a finishing powder that doesn’t make my dry skin look dull and well, powdery.

Reviva Labs Makeup Primer Review

Reviva Labs Makeup Primer

I’ve tried more than a few makeup primers. My goal is to avoid powder because I don’t like how it makes my normal-to-dry skin look. I use blotting sheets daily ( less now that I’m using a Smashbox primer, but more of that later). I haven’t used Chidoriya blotting sheets before. I usually use Papier Poudré, Boscia, or budget sheets from Daiso.

Chidoriya is Japanese cosmetic company founded in 1949 in Kyoto to supply Maiko dancing girls and Geishas. Chidoriya Oil-Blotting Face Papers… Continue reading

Covergirl Simply Ageless Corrector Concealer Review

Weekly Cheap Secret:

OK, so I purchased this because Ellen DeGeneres is the face for this product line. Well, that was one reason. The other: I have been looking for a concealer to love. Currently, I have been using MAC Studio Finish Concealer with SPF 35. I have not been impressed with the MAC concealer to cover dark circles. It’s too thick and I have to mix it with Clarins Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch to make the MAC concealer smoother and more manageable. (I miss Prescriptives.) Anyway, I… Continue reading
