Comme des Garçons Daphne is a perfume not inspired by the flowering shrub but by beer heiress and fashion icon Daphne Guinness. When the new Comme de Garcons PLAY Series was launched, I had an opportunity to sniff these three new perfumes at Scent Bar. All of them caught my attention in the shop, but Red stood out to me the most. After returning home, I was able to sample these perfumes again without all the Beverly Hills glitz and glam. And I still liked them because they’re good.
I often describe scents as a color. Comme des Garcons Green in the PLAY Collection smells green.
Green opens as the best herb garden ever. I get cool mint, vivid lemon verbena, and a licorice-y basil. The addition of other “green” elements keep this fragrance from smelling too much like a dental hygiene product. The scent is cool to the skin and cool to the nose.
