Ayala Moriel Parfums newest perfume, Sunset Beach, is one of those perfumes inspired by beaches that manages to not smell like tanning lotion or the sort of functional fragrances we’d associate with a day at the beach. For the most part, this is a rarity in the perfume world. So many “beach fragrances” rely on the sort of scents used in products, not the beach. Sunset Beach is a creamy, warm scent with woods that is like a never-ending summer.

It has been six years since I put together a guide of coconut perfumes. With so many launches (and so many discontinuations), there’s a need to update. This is my comprehensive list of 26 perfumes that are predominantly coconut or have a predominant coconut note. From coconut water to coconut cream, this guide should have you covered.
One of the things that I’ve learned is that coastal towns of the same latitude are really similar despite their political boundaries. Now coastal “touristy” towns are even more similar. The shops are the same. The restaurants are the same (always fried fish and potatoes). And the candies are usually the same.
