1950’s Fashion: Get the Makeup Look of Janet Leigh

Janet Leigh

I think this is a very pretty vintage look. It’s all about the glossy lips (that aren’t red!). This look will look great on most complexions. Here’s what I did to achieve a similar 1950’s pre-Pyscho inspired Janet Leigh look:

FACE: I applied Lancôme Absolue Cream Foundation in Ecru 10 with my Elizabeth Arden Foundation Brush. Under the eyes with my fingers, I applied Covergirl Simply Ageless Concealer in Corrector. With the puff provided, I applied… Continue reading

More 1930’s Fashion: Get the Makeup Look of Joan Blondell

1930's blonde actress Joan Blondell

So, this photo is rouged to heck and I can’t get a similar look without doing the same, but I still like the makeup look. It’s a playful look that works for light to medium complexions. Here’s what I did to get a 1930’s Joan Blondell inspired look:

FACE: To even out complexion, I applied Shiseido Stick Foundation in o20 directly on my face. I blended with my Elizabeth Arden Foundation

Clinique’s slogan for this fragrance is “Intriguing, Non-Conformist Fragrance performs the role of a perfume, but goes far beyond”. Pretty bold coming from the “safest” cosmetic company that I can think of. This fragrance was created in 1975 by Bernard Chant, the man… Continue reading | 2 Comments

Clinique Happy Heart Perfume Review

Mainstream Monday: Sniffing A Popular Fragrance:

Ughh, talk about a fragrance that I never want to sniff again…I’m so sick of the Clinique Happy fragrance line. I try not to be. I try to have an open mind. I really do. But, I’m so sick of it. This is one of those fragrances that my generation went nuts over. They then introduced it to their moms, who then went insane over it. Before long, everybody and their sister and mother were wearing this stuff. I
