1950’s Fashion – Get the Makeup Look of Jane Powell

Jane Powell magazine cover

Here’s a 1951 Motion Picture magazine cover of actress Jane Powell. It’s a classic early 1950’s look featuring bold lips and minimal eye makeup. Here’s what I did to get a similar Jane Powell look:

FACE: I applied Guerlain Lingerie de Peau Foundation in Beige Clair with a foundation brush. Using a concealer brush, I applied e.l.f. All Over Cover Stick in Apricot Beige under my eyes and over dark spots. With my fancy shmancy Caron Powder Puff, I applied Caron La

With a powder brush, I applied Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in Transparent. Under the cheek bones, I applied with a blush brush,

Alice is sporting quite the look here with those interesting bangs. I may not like the hair but I do like a classic, matte red lipstick look. Here’s what I did to create a 1930’s inspired Alice Faye makeup look…sans the goofy poofy hair:

FACE: I applied Shiseido Stick Foundation in 020 with my fingers. With my Bobbi Brown Concealer Brush, I applied e.l.f

More 1950’s Fashion – Get the Makeup Look of Elaine Stewart

Get the makeup look of Elaine Stewart

Isn’t this just the “classic” makeup look? I see this picture of the breathtaking Elaine Stewart and I get the urge to wear red lipstick daily (not that I don’t already have that urge). Here’s what I did to get this elegant 1950’s makeup look:

FACE: With my Elizabeth Arden Foundation Brush, I applied Lancôme Absolue Makeup in Ecru 10. Under the eyes to cover up dark circles, I applied Covergirl Simply
