L’Artisan Parfumeur Mon Numero 10 EDP Perfume Review

L'Artisan Mon Numero 10

L’Artisan Parfumeur had a line of “numbered” perfumes that were once a limited run of exclusive perfumes that well, they decided to bring back as non-limited, non-exclusive AKA “permanent” perfumes. I assume that this exclusive model A. worked for them and they wanted to continue selling these or B. didn’t work for them at all and they decided to lower the price and bring these to mass market. Anyway, Mon Numéro 10 is an oriental perfume from “the numbers” collection.

In the opening, Mon Numero 10 reminds… Continue reading | 2 Comments

Maison Francis Kurkdjian Oud Velvet Mood Perfume Extrait Review

Kurkdjian Oud Velvet Mood

She wore Oud Velvet….

Oud Velvet Mood is one of the ouds by Maison Francis Kurkdjian that is meant to represent “textures”. Now this line is rather pricey, but I do think they are well done. They do display the “textures” of oud. And they’re weird but so is fungal infected wood.

Oud Velvet Mood opens with a cool sharpness that reminds me of varnish. In the fragrance world, this is what we’d call “medicinal”. It reminds me of a mix… Continue reading | 6 Comments

Aramis JHL Custom Collection Fragrance Review

Aramis JHL

Mainstream Monday – Sniffing a Popular Perfume

Aramis JHL is basically Estee Lauder Cinnabar for Men. Apparently, this cologne was created for Estée Lauder’s husband (and I take it, these are his initials). I don’t see why he didn’t just start wearing Cinnabar, maybe he did, I don’t know. I’m sure there is a story behind this one, but I don’t know it. I’m such a helpful perfume blogger…

JHL opens with aldehydes. But, these aldhydes aren’t as “loud” as most used in Estee Lauder’s retro feminine… Continue reading | 3 Comments

Parfums de Rosine Majalis EDP Perfume Review

Parfums de Rosine Majalis

Parfums de Rosine Majalis is a perfume inspired by rose majalis AKA cinnamon rose (which I hear has no scent). Majalis is a spicy rose. I think of it almost like a rose hot toddy – rose, cinnamon, honey with warmth.

Majalis opens with a glimmer of citrus and spices, reminding me of an orange pomander except replace the clove with cinnamon sticks. Majalis is a sticky honey and cinnamon spice. The rose in this is like dried rose petals steeped in mulled cider (or… Continue reading | 3 Comments

EnVoyage Perfumes Indigo Vanilla EDP Perfume Review

Envoyage Indigo Vanilla

Indigo Vanilla is a perfume in the latest trio, Souvenir de Chocolate, by indie brand, Envoyage Perfumes. This perfume is “Inspired by the sensuous and sultry jazz of the 20’s, and the creamy goodness of New Orleans hot chocolate made with steamed milk, sumptuous whipped cream, and topped with violette sucrée”. My nose doesn’t pick up on the jazz and New Orleans inspiration with this one. Instead I’m reminded of a Christmas. So, here’s my Christmas in July review…

Indigo Vanilla opens with cinnamon sugar. It’s… Continue reading
