It’s technically spring in the Northern Hemisphere and I’m over here wearing perfumes that smell like autumn. MariaLux Yours Deeply is one of those spicy, boozy perfumes that manages to smell rich, dark, deep…indulgent.
Yours Deeply is a rich, deep fragrance. It opens with an animalic honey and a barnyard oud. I don’t consider myself a vanilla person at all. There are plenty that I’ve reviewed on EauMG that I like but not enough to buy or even wear. Vanilla haven’t ever really resonated with me. When I moved to the NYC area, I started to take up tapestry weaving as a hobby. I don’t know why I decided to do such a thing while living in such a small space, but I did. I really enjoyed it. Last week, I reviewed Caron Nuit de Noel, a classic perfume that’s very Caron-y but not really Christmas-y (or at least it doesn’t remind me of Christmas). This had me thinking, which perfumes smell like Christmas? I’ve always thought Serge Lutens Fille en Aiguelles, a perfume that reminds me of spicy evergreens and apple cider, is holiday-ish. Etro Rajasthan reminds me of Swedish Christmas cookies. Spicy perfumes like Aramis JHL and Estee Lauder Cinnabar
