Colorado-based indie perfume brand DSH Perfumes launched a collection of perfumes this year inspired by “Forbidden Fruits”. Les Fruits Défendus are all fragrances wrapped up in culture, mythology and symbolism associated with fruits.
Notes listed include date, cardamom, bitter orange, bitter almond, rose, jasmine, frankincense, myrrh, benzoin, vanilla and sandalwood.

There was a discussion on Twitter, which I now can’t find, where people shared their experience with disappointing foods. To my surprise, Turkish Delight kept being mentioned. Mainstream Monday – Sniffing (Two) Popular Perfumes
MAC Cosmetics launched Shadescents, a line of perfumes to correspond with some of their best-selling, cult status lipstick shades. I was all about this concept as it combined both of my vices – perfume and lipstick.

The People of the Labyrinths Luctor et Emergo is now a niche cult classic. Launched in the late 1990’s, this fruity, boozy scent really paved the way for numerous niche perfumes launched in the early ’00s, as well as mainstream perfumes launched in the past 5 years.
