Destination Inspiration – Perfumes Inspired by Brazil

Brazil

My focus lately in my personal life has been on travel. I thought I would combine my two interests with a new feature on EauMG – travel and perfume.

Many perfumes are “destination perfumes”, perfumes inspired by places. These perfumes are meant to brighten olfactory memories of erstewhile travels. Or to take us to the places we long to visit. Perfume is powerful like that.

I’m starting this new feature with a focus on Brazil (whooo World Cup ’14!).

I’ve never traveled to Brazil but would… Continue reading | 16 Comments

Beyonce Heat Rush EDT Perfume Review

Beyonce Heat Rush perfume

Mainstream Monday – Sniffing a Popular Perfume

For a few years now, I’ve made fun of the name Beyonce Heat Rush. It’s one letter away from “heat rash”, so in my mind I always think “Beyonce Heat Rash” and there’s no glamour in that! So here’s my review of Heat Rash, I mean, Heat Rush.

Dita Von Teese EDP Perfume Review

Dita von Teese Perfume

Celebrity scents have been catapulted at us for the past decade. EauMG’s Perfume Picks for Pantone’s 2014 Color of the Year – Radiant Orchid

Pantone Radiant Orchid

Pantone® announced the color of 2014, Radiant Orchid. Pantone describes it as“an enchanting harmony of fuchsia, purple and pink undertones” that “inspires confidence and emanates great joy, love and health.” Personally, I think this will be a great “cosmetic” color and I partially think this is why it was chosen (licensing agreements). Being a Pantone pick, we’re going to see it in everything from throw pillows to tea towels to bathing suits to lipstick. If purple with pink undertones is your color… Continue reading | 6 Comments

Beyonce Midnight Heat EDP Perfume Review

Beyonce Midnight Heat perfume

Mainstream Monday – Sniffing a Popular Perfume

There’s so much stupidity in the name “Beyonce Midnight Heat” that I’m not even going to go there. We’ll all have our associations and we’ll all go, “well, that’s a stupid name for a perfume”.

Midnight Heat opens as this oddly dusty fragrance that is a mix of patchouli and peaches. And then it gets fruitier and fruitier. Dusty fruits. And this was the best part of the fragrance. Midnight Heat becomes this sickly sweet amber with… Continue reading | 3 Comments
