Guerlain Apres l’Ondee EDT Perfume Review

Guerlain L'Apres L'Ondee

PURPLE FLOWERS WEEK 2017

It’s an annual tradition on EauMG to feature “purple flowers” on the week of Nowruz/Vernal Equinox. “Purple flowers” are what I call flowers that (usually) have purple blossoms and bloom in spring: lilacs, violets, iris, heliotrope, hyacinth and wisteria (when I’m feeling generous). These are the sort of florals that make me think of spring. Plus, it gives me an excuse to talk about some of my favorite floral notes.

I’ve been writing on EauMG since 2008; it surprises me how… Continue reading | 11 Comments

Comme des Garcons x Pharrell Williams Girl EDP Perfume Review

CdG and Pharrell Williams Girl

Mainstream Monday – Sniffing a Popular Perfume

The launching of Girl was a big deal for the “mainstream world” for a few reasons:

Reason 1- The the celeb in this case had enough sense to not only align themselves with a designer, but a designer line that produces a lot of good, trendy perfumes. Van Cleef & Arpels Feerie EDP Perfume Review

Van Cleef & Arpels Feerie

Mainstream Monday – Sniffing a Popular Perfume

“Why did you buy a Tinker Bell perfume? Were they all out of Hello Kitty?”, David asks. Heeley Iris de Nuit EDP Perfume Review

Heeley Iris de Nuit

HEELEY Iris de Nuit has adcopy that says it’s an iris fragrance inspired by the iris root and not the flower. How novel! (Can you sense my sarcasm?) I won’t let this copy get in my way. Here we go…

Iris de Nuit is a soft, suede-like iris and violet. (I use suede-like as a texture, not as an aroma). It reminds me of violet candies with ambrette. So, it smells like violet candies and Musk Lifesavers. The fragrance is a  musky… Continue reading | 4 Comments

Guerlain Myrrhe & Delires EDP Perfume Review

Guerlain Myrrhe et Delires

Guerlain Myrrhe et Délires is the newest edition to the exclusive L’Art et Matière Collection. There’s really not much myrrh in it, so if you dislike myrrh, don’t let the name of this perfume scare you. The myrrh reads as black licorice to my nose. And the only thing about Myrrhe et Delires that gives me delirium is the price. But, I do enjoy this fragrance.

Myrrhe & Délires opens with gentle citrus and a beautiful, peachy osmanthus. Because of the bergamot and the osmanthus, the… Continue reading | 7 Comments
