Thorn & Bloom Stranger in the Cherry Grove EDP Natural Perfume Review

Thorn & Bloom Stranger in the Cherry Grove

Don’t be tricked by the “cherry” in this perfumer’s name. Thorn & Bloom Stranger in the Cherry Grove isn’t a fruity perfume. This is a botanical perfume that is like charred woods and smoke.

Perhaps it was a romantic rendezvous lit by firewood, a bonfire-side party in your home town when your visiting from college or maybe holidays spent at a loved one’s home, there’s something about smoky fragrances that people find nostalgic. It appears like many of us have pleasant memories… Continue reading

DSH Perfumes La Belle Saison Extrait Natural Perfume Review

DSH Perfumes La Belle Saison

For many, many years now, I’ve been a fan girl of the DSH Perfumes line. The brand has an extensive catalog that at times can be very overwhelming. But, it’s been my experience that no matter what I end up trying, I end up liking. Now there are exceptions, but those exceptions are always perfumes that I just “like” instead of “love” or “completely and totally obsessed with”. Dawn’s style agrees with me. I can’t imagine living in a world without her perfumes.

Providence Perfume Co. Love-In-A-Mist Natural Perfume Review

Providence Perfume Love in Mist

The newest botanical perfume from Providence Perfume Co. is inspired by wildflowers. Love-In-A-Mist is a perfume inspired by the wildflower of the same name¹. I have no idea what this flower actually smells like but I can relate to the description of “barefoot summer walks through fields of flowers”.

Love-in-a-Mist opens as a heady, honeyed floral. It reminds me of a flower somewhere between lilacs and ylang-ylang. It’s indolic, peppery and powdery. My warning is that this opening could be “loud” to those that… Continue reading | 5 Comments

Phoenix Botanicals Triple Vanilla & Cocao Noir Perfume Oil Reviews

Phoenix Botanicals Triple Vanilla

I feel like I’ve spent most of the month of March recovering from the flu. I’m just now wanting to smell things again. Natural fragrances like these from Phoenix Botanicals are great for “reintroducing” fragrance into my life.

Triple Vanilla

Notes listed include Mexican vanilla beans. Launched 2013. PERFUMER – Irina Adam

Triple Vanilla smells exactly like vanilla extract. That may sound simple, but it isn’t. Vanilla is naturally complex. This one smells sweet yet balsamic. It reminds me of vanilla… Continue reading | 5 Comments

Phoenix Botanicals Peach Tree Garden EDP Natural Perfume Review

Phoenix Botanicals Peach Tree Garden

Testing something as bright and sunny as Phoenix Botanicals Peach Tree Garden when there is snow on the ground should feel so wrong, but it doesn’t. Peach Tree Garden is a reminder that underneath the ice, there’s life. It’s a reminder that in a few months what are now bare branches will soon be covered with pastel blossoms.

Peach Tree Garden opens with juicy citrus and a “chewy” saffron. This enhances the warmth and ripeness of peach flesh .It wears as a… Continue reading | 12 Comments
