More of the 1960’s: Get the Makeup Look of Beatrice Altariba

Beatrice Altariba

This is a beautiful vintage look inspired by French actress Beatrice Altariba. I love orange lipstick! To get this look:

FACE: Beatrice has an even and dewy complexion. Apply a primer if needed. I like Illamasqua Satin Primer because it illuminates the skin and contains sunscreen. Apply a cream foundation such as Shiseido Advanced Hydro-Liquid Compact Foundation in your shade. Apply with the sponge and blend. Apply concealer if needed. Paul & Joe Under Eye Concealer is nice for dark circles. Orange lipstick will… Continue reading | 3 Comments

More of the 1980’s: Get The Look of Annie Lennox

Annie Lennox

Androgyny but with lots and lots of makeup. I guess that was one of the few good things about the 80’s. Don’t be scared to lay it on thick.

FACE: Cover up imperfections with an all around concealer like MAC Studio Sculpt Concealer in your shade. Face is matte (and I am sure shades lighter). I love MAC Studio Fix Powder Foundation. Apply a hot pink powder blush such as Amazing Cosmetics Amazing Blush in Hot Pink.

EYES: Brush brows into place and… Continue reading

Electric Pink Lips: Milani Lip Color in Rose Hip

Weekly Cheap Secret:

Milani cosmetics are pretty high quality, especially with its drugstore price tag. I really like their lip products. They usually pack a pigment punch. Milani Lipstick Lip Color in Rose Hip is a perfect example. It is a satin cream finish hot pink. It provides full coverage and feels great on the lips. It does have a slight floral fragrance which makes it seem more expensive than it is. Plus it has that gold packaging which I love. This color reminds me a lot… Continue reading | 1 Comment

Shiseido Hydro Powder Eye Shadow Doesn't Budge

I love this stuff. It wears for a long time and it doesn’t crease! You can’t say that about every cream shadow on the market. This stuff comes in a cool glass pot and a little goes a long way. It is a creamy super shimmery formula that once applied to the lid turns more powdery and budge proof. It looks wonderful with powder shadows layered over and it makes a great shadow base. They do not make the lids feel oily. There are alot of colors to choose from. I have a… Continue reading | 2 Comments

Yves Saint Laurent YSL Holiday Bow Color Collection Review

Yves Saint Laurent Holiday Bow Color Collection is all about “wrapping” up 2008. There are some nice holiday items and the rest are well, relaunches. The colors aren’t horrible but they are predictable. I really liked the fall makeup collection better. It seemed “newer”. This collection offers us the following:

LIPS: Fard À Lèvres Rouge Pur Pure Lipstick in Honey Beige which is a warm peachy beige. This shade really works with dark eye makeup. We have Golden Gloss Shimmering Lip Gloss in Golden Burgundy. This is one of my fave holiday shades. It… Continue reading
