I hate really certain thoughts that put people into boxes of rigid identities: introvert/extrovert, left-brain/right-brain, dog person/cat person and even city person/country person. Boadicea the Victorious is an extensive line that verges on overwhelming, but I have liked the very few that I’ve tried. Intense is described as “creating the impression of a scented Mediterranean garden at night.” Now here’s my impression…

When I smell Boadicea the Victorious Salubrious, I get this synesthetic rush of a color and texture. It’s a solferino velvet. So dark, with a purple tint, soft, smooth. This vision is somewhere between Interview With a Vampire and if a plum had peach fuzz. I don’t think a bridge exists to join the two, except for this fragrance. Salubrious reminds me of velvety rose petals, dark stone fruits, red wine with a licentious, vampy darkness.
