Opus Oils Charm reminds me of a headshop and I never mean that in a bad way. Charm has a boho black coconut incense that is spicy, smoky and sweet. July – Sickness, seances and seaweed. July sucked so hard that my neighbor thought I was dead and there was a wellness check. This is all you need to know about July.
August 1st – Downtown – It’s a dreary reminder of late fall: cool winds, rustling leaves and micro-mist coating 3/4 sleeves. It even smells like autumn. Persian was planned. I go home and chop up mint and parsley but I’d rather be smelling the aroma of a spiced pumpkin pie.
I realize that I haven’t been very “warm” to the new Carons. But, here’s my deal with Caron – my expectations are high. It’s difficult for me to smell something that smells like rose and lychee and think it warrants the name of the exquisite house of Caron. I almost quit trying any of the new launches from Caron, but then I tried Accord 119 Parfum and my faith has been restored.
I’ve always been attracted to a bit of vampy drama. Keeping up with EauMG holiday gift guide tradition, I put together this holiday guide for all of the goths, alt-chic, vintage vamps and post-punk dames on your list. This year I went a little more high-end luxury with this gift guide, indulging my inner silent film star. And obviously indulging my 2011 obsession with nail polish. Every August I start to crave blackberry perfumes. When these musky fruits start to turn black on their thorny branches, I want to smell like fruit. I love blackberries. I love to eat them, pick them, and evidently, smell like them.
