Honoré des Prés I Love Les Carottes EDP Perfume Review

Honore de Pres I Love Les Carottes

Honoré des Prés I Love Less Carottes is in the WeLoveNY Collection. And yes, it is inspired by farmer’s market carrots and it smells like farmer’s market carrots.

Les Carottes really does smell like freshly grated carrots…with orange zest in the opening. Photo-realistic carrot shavings and orange peel. And then I’m reminded of dried apricots. It’s fruity, sweet carrots with a hint of dried ginger but with cool, mineral earth from iris and patchouli. I should probably think it is more unusual… Continue reading | 6 Comments

Aftelier Secret Garden Natural Perfume Review

Aftelier Secret Garden

Aftelier Secret Garden is a perfume inspired by the 1910 novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett. My little macabre girlself that drew witches on my report cards rather liked this story. A girl’s parents die and she gets to go live in a big ‘ole house. She cleans up a garden and practically heals her cousin by convincing him he can walk. Female empowerment, independence, a garden that cures all your emotional problems. I haven’t read it since I was at least 8, but I remember loving it… Continue reading | 4 Comments

Serge Lutens Un Bois Vanille EDP Perfume Review

Serge Lutens Un Bois Vanille

Did you need more proof that benzoin and vanilla belong together? Well, if you did, keep on reading.

Serge Lutens Un Bois Vanille, you are one delicious fragrance. I get this opening of a “dark” vanilla and black licorice. Here’s the deal with the licorice, it’s super faint. Many wearers don’t notice it. I’m a lover of licorice. I notice this waxy black licorice with this sweet vanilla benzoin. It’s subtle and a wonderful addition to Un Bois Vanille. The vanilla mixes with toasted coconut flakes… Continue reading | 9 Comments

The Vagabond Prince Enchanted Forest EDP Perfume Review

The Vagabond Prince Enchanted Forest

Enchanted Forest is a perfume based solely on blackcurrant (cassis) by The Vagabond Prince (a brand created by the founders of Fragrantica). We haven’t seen a perfume use this much blackcurrant before because, to put it bluntly, people think it smells like kitty piss. Blackcurrant is a polarizing note in perfumery. It reminds people of sulfur and ammonia. At the same time, it’s wonderful. Many of us love its flavor; we think of kir royale and the smell of the fruit is nostalgic… Continue reading | 5 Comments

Providence Perfume Co. Amber Cream Body Oil Review

Providence Perfume Co. Amber Cream

I have reviewed quite a few Providence Perfume Co. perfumes on EauMG and I’m surprised that I’m just know getting around to reviewing the line’s body oil!

The Formula & My Experience: It’s a blend of apricot, sweet almond, safflower, aloe and jojoba. I have very dry skin and prefer oils as moisturizers. I love this formula because it is very nourishing but absorbs very quickly in comparison to other natural oils that I’ve used. My skin is literally left feeling silky and smooth… Continue reading | 6 Comments
