Mojo is a Lousiana-based casual clothing line that specializes in cool bayou graphics. Last year the line launched its first fragrance, Mojo Magique, a fragrance that I really liked wearing. This year the brand has followed-up with two new fragrances. And one of these is Voodoo Child.
O’Driù is a niche, artisanal Italian perfume line. I can barely keep up with American indies, so I haven’t went out of my way find “new” International brands. It’s not that I don’t care, I do, it’s just really difficult to keep up. O’Driu has received a lot of buzz due to the perfumer and the line’s eccentricities and art installations (see Peety). This is one of the few International indies that is on my radar.
The niche perfume market has lots of incense themed perfumes to choose from. After a while I grew tired of these because it felt like so many of them were redundant. (At that time I had found Etro Messe de Minuit and was satisfied). I know that this genre continues to attract people because of nostalgia. Many of us have associations with “church” incense. OK, perfume people, I can practically see your eyes rolling but oud as a “trend” is not gone. In fact, it’s most likely going to be around for a few more years. And I’m fine with that. It’s not oud’s fault. Beautiful materials will always be around.

Olfactive Studio is a line of perfumes inspired by photography, a collaboration across different mediums. The photograph shown below by Luc Lapôtre represents the solace found in nature and inner reflection.
