I love fig fragrances. They are the genre that removes me from money the easiest and quickest. Fig fragrances are my “everyday” fragrances because they are light enough for work (usually) but still interesting. And figs are my favorite fruit. They are very nostalgic for me.
At first Ninfeo Mio is herbaceous, sometimes I feel like I’m sniffing tomato vines. It is that green and humid. The humidity reminds me a little of Annick Goutal Un Matin d’Orage at the initial stages but the humidity in Ninfeo Mio is “dirtier”… Continue reading | 9 Comments
I love Annick Goutal Eau du Sud for summer wear. This is such an energizing citrus fragrance. It’s a nice “salty” citrus.
At first Eau du Sud is a bergamot and grapefruit bomb. This isn’t especially special or ground breaking. It really smells like when I put a dab of L’Aromarine Bergamote oil on one wrist and a dab of L’Aromarine Grapefruit oil on the other and rub my wrists together. It’s a “rugged” citrus, grapefruit blend. It’s the… Continue reading | 8 Comments
Annick Goutal Un Matin d’Orage or “stormy morning” is a wet floral scent. It isn’t humid like most white floral/gardenia fragrance, but “wet”. It is a white floral blend that is green and it has that “wet” note that most Hermès Jardin fragrances have.
This scent was inspired by Camille Goutal’s trips to Japan. It is her interpretation of rain-drenched gardenias drying in the sun. I really do think of this fragrance as a light and fresh floral. It’s humid and wet, in a rainy way. It really does smell… Continue reading | 4 Comments
Annick Goutal Petite Chérie is an adorable and carefree fragrance. It is very obvious that this is a fragrance for younger folks with its fun and sassy notes. And I find it no surprise that Annick Goutal created this fragrance for her daughter, Camille. It is a pretty fragrance and I find it an amazing “starter” fragrance. It’s a cute, joyous fragrance perfect for young girls because it isn’t “sensuous” and is far from “seductive”. However, its fresh and carefree notes appeal to women of all ages. It’s a light-wearing fragrance… Continue reading | 4 Comments
Tonight or never…I absolutely love Annick Goutal Ce Soir ou Jamais EDP. It’s a scent for the rose lover. It covers all aspects of a rose: the greenness, the fruitiness, the gourmand qualities, the floralness, and the romantic imagery of a rose. Annick Goutal considered this one of her prize fragrances and it took her 15 years to complete (launched in 1999). It’s her top-secret formula and it is supposed to make one’s head spin. I love this fragrance, but I must say that I love rose scents. This Turkish rose… Continue reading | 2 Comments
