1970’s Fashion – Get the Makeup Look of Martine Beswick

Martine Beswick

Hammer film actress and Bond girl. Two things that I’ve always wanted on my resume but it’s never happening.  – Here’s what I did to get a 1970’s Martine Beswick inspired look:

FACE: Nothing about my face is like Martine’s so I must contour. I applied Guerlain Lingerie de Peau Foundation in Beige Claire and blended with a sponge. Under the eyes, I applied Covergirl Simply Ageless Concealer in Corrector. With the brush included I set the… Continue reading | 2 Comments

Esscentual Alchemy That 70’s Smell Perfume Oil Review

Gino Vannelli 1976

Esscentual Alchemy That 70’s Smell is a earthy, resinous, aromatic green perfume. Yeah, it could be described as “hippie” but I think of at as a very spiritual and ancient perfume.

That 70’s Smell is “strong”. The opening for me is cool/medicinal lavender with frankincense and tons of earthy vetiver. It seems very “ancient”, like 70 B.C.E instead of 1970 C.E.! 1970’s Fashion: Get the Makeup Look of Elga Andersen

This isn’t usually the type of look that we moderns think of when we think “70’s”. This is classic babe. Classic babe doesn’t really change. Here’s what I did to get this Elga inspired look:

FACE: Under the eyes with my fingers, I applied Covergirl Simply Ageless Concealer in Corrector. With a foundation brush, I applied Lancôme Absolue Makeup in Ecru 10. I go over that and blend/soften with a Beautyblender. With a powder brush, I applied Rimmel Stay Matte

Perfume Pharmer & The Patch Test Bunnies – EauMG’s Picks

Perfume Pharmer & The Patch Test Bunnies

It’s the summer of patchouli. Imagine 13 amazing, talented perfumers creating a fragrance with 25% patchouli and 100% natural keeping their project secret, numbered only, sending these out for fragrance experts and celebrities (yeah, Kim Novak, seriously) to sniff and rank. I’m giving a big thanks to Monica Sky Miller. She coordinated this huge sensory event, Summer of Patchouli Love 2011, Perfume Pharmer & The Patch Test Bunnies. This patchouli digging fragrance fanatic is happy to announce that I am a Patch… Continue reading | 14 Comments

1970’s Fashion – Get the Makeup Look of Susan George

Susan George

Here’s one of those “no makeup” 70’s makeup looks. These are a nice change for me. Not all vintage looks are red lipstick or heavy black eyeliner. Here’s what I did to get the look of 70’s sexpot, Susan George:

FACE: Susan’s face makeup is too matte for my tastes, but I’ll forgive it because her skin is flawless. Now I can’t say that for the rest of us; we know that matte foundations and looks are “aging” too. With my fingers… Continue reading | 1 Comment
