Smell Bent presents “Sunset People” a collection of five disco inspired perfumes. Here are my impressions:
Disco Nap includes notes of caramelized vanilla, ambergris, almond, coconut and “snuggly” musk.
Disco Nap is a sweet perfume that opens with coconut, almond and vanilla sugar. And then it gets a nice dose of ambergris that adds some sophistication to this toasted sweet dessert.
Give Disco Nap a try if you like sweet perfumes or perfumes like Costamor Dulcess, Bath and Body Works Warm Vanilla Sugar, and/or Serge Lutens Un Bois Vanille.
Victoria’s Final EauPINION – Coconut-almond-vanilla sugar. My favorite from the collection. Or maybe that’s only because it is winter and all I want is sugar and carbs…
Mirror Ball includes notes of dark incense, woods, hyacinth and night-blooming jasmine.
Mirror Ball opens as honeyed incense. Imagine something that is “dry” but “sticky”. I don’t know if it is my imagination, but I pick up on cardamom too. It’s a spicy floral incense with lots of honey.
People that dislike honey should avoid Mirror Ball. Try Mirror Ball if you like honey or perfumes like TokyoMilk Honey & The Moon, By Kilian Back to Black or Estee Lauder Sensuous.
Victoria’s Final EauPINION – Honeyed incense with extra helpings of honey. One that will either love or hate your skin.
Lady Gogo includes notes of jasmine, orange flower, fresh pepper and sandalwood.
Lady Gogo is a spicy orange blossom. In the opening I get more pepper than floral. On my skin, the pepper and orange blossom fade rather quickly and I’m left with a citrusy sandalwood for most of the wear.
Try Lady Gogo is you want a “woodsy cologne” or if you like perfumes like Acqua di Parma Colonia or Annick Goutal Eau du Sud.
Victoria’s Final EauPINION – “Woodsy eau de cologne” – sandalwood and orange blossom. This would be a good day scent for a man. Or a good “winter cologne”.
Tipsy Social Blah Blah includes “the banter of boozy cocktailers against the backdrop of a dim, crowded bar.”
Tipsy Social BB opens as a cosmopolitan cocktail. It’s lime and cranberry juice with a hint of vodka. This can read as Sweet Tarts to some people. I’m sure of that. It wears linear but at the base I get a little bit of salt with it. It smells somewhat like sweaty skin. Or that could be me.
Try Tipsy Social Blah Blah if you like tart, fruity fragrances. Or if you like Demeter Cosmopolitan Cocktail.
Victoria’s Final EauPINION – Cosmopolitan cocktail mixed with body shots. Sounds fun, so it’s not for me 🙂
Walk of Shame includes notes of overcast sky, cold concrete, bodega blossoms and “morning-after” musk.
Walk of Shame opens as Certs. I guess this little breath mint is what gave you that little boost of confidence to talk to her in the first place. The heart is floral soap. And the base is floral soap but with a hint more musk. I get the impression that someone took a shower before venturing outside. I do get a hint of patchouli and musk but really this one wears cool, minty and floral on me.
You may like this fragrance if you like cooling fragrances. Or perfumes like LUSH The Smell of Weather Turning.
Victoria’s Final EauPINION – Breath mints and bar soap. It’s overly clean because it’s feeling dirty.
The Sunset People Collection is available in oil or EDT. I have reviewed the EDTs which retail for $49 for 1.7 oz. The perfume oils retail for $23 at Smell Bent. A sample set that includes all of the scents is also available.
