Smell Bent Mots Verts EDT Perfume Review

Smell Bent Mots Verts EDT Perfume Review

Mots Verts is a limited edition fragrance in Smell Bent’s Radiodada 2011 Spring Fragrance Collection. Mots Verts (Risqué Puns) is really a surreal perfume. It’s a strange but wearable mix of crisp greens and creamy vanilla. I’m reviewing the EDT, a perfume oil is also available.

At first, Mots Verts is a bit swampy. I can tell that it is green but it almost verges on damp compost because it isn’t “clean green”. I get something tart and green with spice. The rhubarb is garden fresh. What is throwing off something that I should love is lots of sweet, creamy vanilla. Now I like the idea of a rhubarb custard, but this never blends. It’s like green leaves and rhubarb are on “top” of milky, vanilla pudding. OK, give it a few minutes and it all starts to work. How? I don’t know, but it does. Maybe I get used to it and accept Mots Verts for who it is. I bet there is nothing in your collection like it. It’s spicy green and vanilla cream. It reads much more tame than what it actually smells like.

Will I ever wear something like Mots Verts? No, but I do like it and I’m very happy that I had an opportunity to try it. It really is strange, but in a good way. I know you want to sniff it 😉

Notes listed include hyacinth, rhubarb, green carnation, katrafay, vetiver, vanilla bean, and cream musk.

Mots Verts retails for $45 for the EDT, what I reviewed. A perfume oil is also available but I don’t know how it compares to the EDT. Mots Verts can be purchased at Smell Bent.

    1. It is a creamy green. But, this green has a strange wet, damp composting celery leaf to it. You be the judge 😉

  1. Hmm, I get a LOT of hyacinth and carnation along with the rhubarb up top. It is creamy, but also very springy with those florals. I just got a bottle!

    1. I really like it. I get carnation too. It adds a floral spice to the interesting rhubarb note. Did you purchase the oil or the EDT? My friend said she picked up more hyacinth in the oil.
