I use body scrubs all year long, but I do find myself using them more in the summer when more of my skin is exposed to the world.
Simply Scrub is a line of all-natural, organic body scrubs that currently has four formulas. Unlike many products that are the same formula with a different fragrance, each of these are completely different.
I use scrubs weekly, sometimes bi-weekly, on my body. I do not use scrubs on my face since I use chemical exfoliants. Usually I prefer scrubs with an oilier texture and sugar based (because of shaving). Being all-natural has not been a priority for me in the past even though I have used or made myself natural scrubs.
Here’s my thoughts on Simply Scrub:
You have no idea how tempted I’ve been to eat this. It smells like those chocolate/oatmeal no-bake cookies (that now I suddenly have a craving for). The texture of this one is more creamy like a butter but don’t worry, it has exfoliating pieces as well from cocoa nibs). It’s basically like rubbing a slightly melted chocolate bar over your body. And who would have ever thought my skin would love that? But, it does. This one leaves my skin soooo soft.
*This is like a cheaper and all-natural alternative to Fresh Cocoa Body Exfoliant. If you like the idea of smelling like chocolate, then you’re going to love this¹.

The scent of Rose reminds me of brewed rose green tea. It’s floral but there’s a sharp greenness from tea tree oil. The texture of this one is like if someone ran brewed rose tea through a coffee grinder. Being that I typically like oilier scrubs, I was surprised by how much I liked the texture of this one. It’s a “lighter”/more gentle exfoliation than the others and it moisturizes very well. My only complaint (which is because I’m a rose lover) is that the tea tree oil scent overpowers the naturally beautiful scent of the red rose buds.

This smells just like ground coffee because it’s made from ground coffee. So the texture is like finely ground coffee beans. It’s a drier formula with some nourishing oils. Out of all of these, this scrub is the coarsest. It means business. If you aren’t a exfoliation wimp, this is the one for you.
I love the scent of coffee so I liked this one. Apparently, caffeine helps with cellulite and temporarily toning skin. I didn’t notice any of that but in all fairness, I wasn’t actually paying attention either.
Ingredients: Organic coffee beans, Organic coconut oil, Organic dead sea mineral salt, Organic tea tree oil, Organic brown sugar, Organic jojoba oil, Organic grape seed oil, Organic shea butter, Organic honeycomb
The scent of this one shocked me because I was expecting something fruity like soursop. Instead this is green, cool and herbal since it’s based on the soursop leaves, not the fruit. The scent is like peppermint and tea tree oil and it hits you like BAM! The texture of this one really varies from the others in that it’s like a dense brick of a leafy paste. I find it more difficult to work with than the others. It takes a little more massaging and manipulation to get it to spread over the body. But with some water and warmth, it will spread.
Out of all these, this was my least favorite for a few reasons. I didn’t like the texture as much as the others. I don’t really like scrubs with a lot of salt (apparently I can’t shave without cutting myself). But, mostly because my skin doesn’t respond well to tea tree oil and mint. Despite all of this, my skin reacted much better than I anticipated it would (i.e. I didn’t turn red). If you like minty products, then you’ll probably like this. If you read my blog regularly, you already know I’m not really into minty products.
Ingredients: Organic soursop leaves, Organic coconut oil, Organic dead sea mineral salt, Organic tea tree oil, Organic brown sugar, Organic jojoba oil, Organic Vitamin E, Organic green tea, Organic shea butter, Organic mint leaves
My favorites are Chocolate and Rose. I like these for their scent and their formulas. However, they’re all good. I just think those two were the best for my skin. All of the formulas exfoliate and leave my skin feeling soft and moisturized. If you have skin that isn’t super dry, I can imagine that you could actually not follow up with a moisturizer after using these. Anyway, these did everything I wanted them to do and then some.
Like all all-natural scrubs, it takes some extra effort to rinse. If you’re a veteran scrub user, you’re ready for this…you expect this. But, considering these are all smashed up organic materials, they rinse off a lot easier than I expected.
This is a brand worth checking out if you like scrubs or green beauty products.
All the scrubs come in two sizes: 3.5 oz jars (pictured above) with prices ranging from $11-$16 and 9 oz pouches with prices ranging from $24-$36. These scrubs are available at Simply Scrub.
