I don’t know what it is about me but if a perfume has orange blossom and leather together, I’m probably going to love it.
Ramon Monegal Mon Cuir opens as a leathery orange blossom with pollen. It reminds me very much of Caron Narcisse Blanc extrait with a hint of Caron Narcisse Noir extrait. Go ahead and make the assumption that I really like this opening. As the orange blossom warms on my skin it starts to smell a little like red grapes with orange blossom. The leather in Mon Cuir is soft, not tannic or smoky. It reminds me of worn leather driving gloves. Mon Cuir is a powdery, soft leather. The dry-down is a warm, woodsy and creamy skin-hugging sandalwood.
Mon Cuir is one of those va-va-voom perfumes. Big blossoms with an animalic side.
Notes listed include Russian leather, orange flower, labdaceme, nutmeg, Indonesian patchouli, musk and Australian sandalwood. Launch date 2011.
Give Mon Cuir a try if you like floral leathers. Or if you like Caron Narcisse Noir, Caron Narcisse Blanc, Arquiste Infanta en Flor, Chanel Cuir de Russie, Serge Lutens Fleurs d’Oranger and/or House of Matriarch Lucid.
Mon Cuir has above average projection and longevity.
The 1.7 oz EDP retails for $185 at Luckyscent. Samples are also available for purchase.
Victoria’s Final EauPINION – Orange blossom and soft leather with sweetness. I think this is one of the best from the Ramon Monegal line.
