Providence Perfume Co. Love-In-A-Mist Natural Perfume Review

Providence Perfume Love in Mist

The newest botanical perfume from Providence Perfume Co. is inspired by wildflowers. Love-In-A-Mist is a perfume inspired by the wildflower of the same name¹. I have no idea what this flower actually smells like but I can relate to the description of “barefoot summer walks through fields of flowers”.

Love-in-a-Mist opens as a heady, honeyed floral. It reminds me of a flower somewhere between lilacs and ylang-ylang. It’s indolic, peppery and powdery. My warning is that this opening could be “loud” to those that don’t like florals like lilac. For me, it’s perfect because it makes me feel like I’m surrounded by spring florals. The heart is a perfect, powdery mimosa that reminds me of floral powdered sugar with watermelon slices. It dries down to honeyed hay and clover that smells like a warm summer day out in the country.

This is a perfume that does smell like a field of wildflowers on a warm day. I really like wearing Love-In-A-Mist now but I have a feeling this is going to be a fragrance that I really appreciate in the dead of winter when the ground is frozen and the days are short.

Notes listed include love-in-a-mist (a wildflower), mimosa, pink peppercorn, sandalwood and sweet clover. Launched in 2015. PERFUMER – Charna Ethier

Give Love-In-A-Mist a try if you like lilac, mimosa or floral perfumes. Or if you like perfumes like L’Occitane Eau d’Azur, Von Euserdorff Classic Mimosa, Aftelier Honey Blossom, Artemisia Blue Lotus Tabac and/or L’Artisan Parfumeur Mimosa Pour Moi. I know this is a perfume inspired by a wildflower but if you’re looking for an all-natural “lilac” perfume, your search is over. This is it.

To my surprise, this perfume has above average projection and longevity. So, this is above-above average for a natural perfume 😉

Love-In-A-Mist comes in two sizes with the 1.7 oz retailing for $175 at Providence Perfume Co. and the 5 ml roll-on for $45 at Providence Perfume Co. and Beautyhabit.

Victoria’s Final EauPINIONA meadow surrounded by lilacs and mimosa. It’s a gorgeous floral and a great addition to the Providence Perfume Co. lineup.

  1. Hey Victoria,
I liked the look and sound of this one but am yet to try it. You make a good argument for giving it a whirl.
Thanks too for the link Love.

  2. I really want to try this floral based on the bottle photography alone. For some reason, that picture of the bottle with the ribbon around the middle and the flower springs really speaks to me, and that’s unusual. Fortunately, I’m not so impulsive as to buy fragrance based solely on image, but your description definitely sells it. 😉 This sounds gorgeous. I love florals.

    1. I have no clue what the wildflower smells like but if it smells like this perfume, then I need to get to know it! It’s a really pretty perfume. I really like this line’s versatility. The florals are great and so are the gourmands and “darker” perfumes.
