The past few days in Seattle, it’s been gorgeous. We’ve had sunshine, fluffy white clouds gracing bright blue skies. Flowers are in bloom and spring green buds are dusting tree leaves. This perfect weather had me thinking about a perfume launched last year by Seattle-based Pirouette. Souvenir is a perfume inspired by lazy, sunny days and that’s exactly what I get from it – yellow flowers and blue skies.
Souvenir opens with a floral astringency. It’s a fruity lavender and mimosa. If Souvenir were a color, it’d be the yellow of black-eyed susans. There’s tart citrus with lime blossoms in the vast floral heart. The dry-down is a soft floral green tea with a hay warmth. The green tea in this is amazing – it doesn’t go “plastic” on me at all!
These past few days have been gorgeous but my allergies are killing me. Souvenir reminds me of that bright yellow of the invasive (but pretty) plant, scotch broom that covers Washington hillsides with pops of bright yellow color. Even though the plant is a nuance (invasive and makes my eyes water), it really is pretty amongst bright green grass and blue skies…these are the colors I get from Souvenir.
Notes listed include French mimosa, orange blossom, golden champa, clementine, pink lavender, linden blossom, sweet pea, ylang ylang, cassie, green hay, white musk and jasmine green tea. Launched 2013. PERFUMER – Karen Gold-Reinke
Give Souvenir a try if you like mimosa perfumes or soft florals. Or if you like perfumes like L’Artisan Parfumeur Mimosa Pour Moi, Caron Farnesiana, Tommi Sooni Passerelle, Aftelier Honey Blossom and/or Sweet Anthem Lucille.
Projection is below average. Longevity is average.
The 1 oz bottle retails for $140 at Pirouette. Samples are also available for purchase.
Victoria’s Final EauPINION – Yellow flowers and blue skies floral. It’s a laid-back floral.

Victoria! Thanks for the great review, I’m so glad you are enjoying the dreamy nature of Souvenir, you are right – its perfect for a spring day with those yellow sunbeams shining through, just the vibe I intended. Glad the green tea is wearing nicely on your skin too. After being quite disappointed with the blandness of the green tea absolutes on the market, I tinctured it myself with the best jasmine green tea I’ve ever come across, and it was worth it. Cheers! Karyn
I didn’t realize you tinctured that green tea yourself. 99% of the time green tea accords go to burning plastic on my skin. The few scrubbers that I’ve had in my life have been green tea scents. The one in Souvenir is gorgeous, actually I find it prettier than the “real deal” – must be the jasmine!
