Phoenix Botanicals Love Potion Perfume Review

Phoenix Botanicals Love Potion

Valentine’s Day is this week. It seems appropriate to review a botanical fragrance called Love Potion. Phoenix Botanicals Love Potion is a perfume inspired by warmth and herbal teas.

Love Potion opens with spice; a mixture of peppercorns and clove. It’s dry and warm. This heat is over creamy tropical florals and an earthy, dark patchouli. The dry-down is something that really does remind me of a spiced black tea. It’s like chai but without any of the “cool” spices like cardamom. Love Potion is a fiery, spicy black tea. It actually gives an illusion of “steam”.

Notes listed include black pepper, ylang-ylang, clove, vanilla, jasmine, wild rose, vetiver and dark patchouli. PERFUMER – Irina Adam

If you like spicy florals, give Love Potion a try. Or if you like perfumes like Caron Poivre parfum, Diptyque L’eau de L’eau, DSH Perfumes Kohl Gris and/or Olympic Orchids Little Stars. Love Potion is unisex.

Being an oil, this wears closely to the skin. Projection is below average and longevity is average.

The 1/4 oz perfume oil retails for $48 at Phoenix Botanicals. Samples are also available for purchase.

Victoria’s Final EauPINIONSpiced black tea with creamy florals. It does remind me of tea even though there is no tea in it. The spices and the “steamy” warmth give an “illusion” of black tea.
