Phoenix Botanicals Bonfire Rose is a fragrance inspired by summer: warm winds, lush florals and bonfire smoke. It’s mid-August and this summer hasn’t been great for me. I just now feel like summer has started and here I am mourning it prematurely. I want warm winds and bonfires. I want to drink pale ales, exchange laughter and swat mosquitoes. And then wake up with smoky smelling hair.
Bonfire Rose opens as an astringent “green” citrus that reminds me of brewing an herbal blend tea. It’s minty with a licorice-like tarragon. Bonfire Rose becomes a “green” neroli, very crisp. This florals blend into acrid incense resins.
Bonfire Rose isn’t overly smoky or rosey. This is nowhere near what I call a “dark rose”. However, Bonfire Rose does smell like summer. It’s green, crisp and living. The overall feel is relaxed. The overall feel is how I wish I spent my summer.
Notes listed include elemi, mugwort, neroli, rose, woods, myrrh and incense. PERFUMER – Irina Adam
Give Bonfire Rose a try if you like crisp, green fragrances. Or if you like perfumes like Aftelier Lumiere, Rebel + Mercury Zeste, Ayala Moriel Orcas, Roxana Illuminated Perfumes Hedera Helix and/or L’Aromatica Nine Dragons. Bonfire Rose is unisex. It does smell “natural” so I do think that one must appreciate botanical perfumes to enjoy it.
Bonfire Rose wears rather close to the skin. Projection and longevity are below average (which is expected for all-natural compositions). And it’s in a oil base, so this is expected.
This perfume oil comes in a few sizes with prices ranging from $26-$48 at Phoenix Botanicals. Samples are also available for purchase.
Victoria’s Final EauPINION – Astringent green floral with acrid incense. A laid-back summer fragrance. It’s not my favorite from the Phoenix Botanicals line but this shouldn’t surprise you as I’m just now starting to warm up to “green” fragrances. Now if you like green, crisp scents, try it.
*So far my favorite from the line is Night Bloom. I haven’t tried them all but I love this one.
