I’ve been asked to give my 2 cents on 2 scents. What we have here are 2 strawberry perfumes by perfumer Kedra Hart (Opus Oils) – Green and Cream. These are both all natural perfumes made with Martha’s Vineyard strawberry essences (by Perfume Pharmer). We have 2 different takes on strawberries.
Here are my impressions:
Cream #2 notes include Martha’s Vineyard strawberry flower essence, pink pepper, bergamot, tangerine, boronia, peach, raspberry, strawberry, amber, vanilla, patchouli, beach found ambergris, and sandalwood.
Cream #2 is a creamy strawberry. It smells like real, ripe strawberry with a bit of fruity pink pepper and peach. You can smell the lactones in this. It’s a creamy strawberry that is sweet but too sweet. It’s fruity sweet, not cupcake sweet. It smells like really ripe strawberries. It’s “denser” than Green #1.
Green #1 notes listed include Martha’s Vineyard strawberry flower and leaf essence, pink pepper, white water lily, red mandarin, ivy accord, rose, tuberose, boronia, strawberry, black currant, peach, green tea, sandalwood, patchouli, beach bound ambergris and oakmoss.
Green #1 opens as a green strawberry that smells like a strawberry patch. There’s a hint of spicy pepper and crushed greens. This scent is dewier, freshier than Cream #2. The florals are delicate. I love the water lily in this. Green #1 is fresh and reminds me of picking strawberries.
So which do I prefer? Sometimes I surprise myself. Both are good but I prefer Green. Green is summer. Green is a place. Green is a happy fragrance to me.
