  1. I just got my bottle of Ostara on Monday (It’s on sale at the Penhaligon’s website! Go! Go! Go!) and it’s so charmingly pretty. Even the box is pretty! I also have an order from surrender to chance on its way with a sample the Jo Malone mimosa and cardamom. Can’t wait. I’m loving anything cardamom at the moment.

    1. WHAT????!!!! OMG, it’s $50. I’m going to faint! AND Elixir is on sale and that’s one of my favorites from Penhaligon’s. You should try it since you are digging cardamom right now.

I still haven’t tried Mimosa & Cardamom, which sounds lovely. The ad campaign was really pretty too. That’s my goal for the next time I’m at a department store; I’m going to sniff it.

  2. It’s true! I bought Ostara online, 50ml for $35.00. That’s practically free in the niche world. I tried Mimosa and Cardamom yesterday at a retail store and it’s nice, but it lasted less than two hours on me which is fine, but not at JM prices. If it was less expensive, I would be ok with that. It is really pretty. I also tried the JM Amber Patchouli and it was really pretty too.

    1. That is FREE! 😉 For real, that’s an awesome price. Most drugstore/celeb/B&BW perfumes cost that much or more.

I had a feeling it would be that way. That is my #1 complaint with JM perfumes. They are fleeting. I have found though, that the body products are just as fragrant and last longer. And the candles are really nice. But, once again, still costly.

  3. I was VERY tempted by JM Dry Body Oils and the candles. The Bergamont and Oud dry oil was amazing on my dry skin.

    1. Those are the products I would splurge on from the line. I haven’t bought any of them in a long time but I was always happy with the oils and candles.

  4. Uhmmmm I jumped on the Ostara bandwagon. My excuse is I need to learn more about narcissus scents and of course full bottles are how you learn, right? Right!? I’ve seen it on several Best of 2015 lists, so it’s a safer blind buy than usual.

The only scents I’ve smelled on the winners list are Eau Parfumee de The Bleu, Misia, and JM mimosa. All were nice enough but didn’t move me. I have a sample of Bergamoss on the way. I think this is my new strategy since I can’t ever keep up: wait until everyone publishes the best of the year lists and sample just those :). I’ll be starting with the Turkish line for sure and Prada.

    1. It’s really hard not to when it’s marked down like that 😉 Usually, I don’t condone any blind-buying, but when there’s a deal, I totally get it. If you don’t like it, it’ll make a great gift or you can sell/trade it.

There’s no way to keep up with all the launches, so I love seeing everyone’s end of the year lists. This motivates me to try the ones that I missed. It does look like a lot of the same ones appear and I believe that’s for a reason…they stood out. Those are the ones I want to try. I think you have a great strategy 😉
