Parfums Rosine Cologne Rose Ocean Perfume Review

Parfums Rosine Cologne de Rose Ocean

Parfums de Rosine Cologne Rose Océan is a new unisex perfume inspired by a rose growing near the ocean.

Rose Ocean opens as a bright citrus with a juicy blackcurrant. There’s an orange blossom in this that reminds me of grape jelly (don’t worry, it’s still an orange blossom). The heart is a jammy rose with humid white florals. Up until this stage, Cologne Rose Ocean really didn’t remind me of the sea. The heart isn’t aquatic in that perfumery sense of the “aquatic”, but it does wear like mineral florals, like the sort of heady florals that grow on the Riviera: jasmine, neroli, roses with a hint of salt. It dries down to a soft floral with a white musk-lavender that’s breezy.

Cologne Rose Océan wasn’t what I expected. I expected a typical aquatic with enough rose in it to say there’s rose in it. Instead Cologne Rose Océan is a rose with the faintest hint of ocean air. The focus is on the rose and flowers instead of the ocean. And really, that’s the point. The house themselves said this is a “rose growing near the ocean” not an “ocean near roses”.

Victoria’s Final EauPINIONHeady, mineral rose and neroli. It’s pretty and light enough to not be suffocating in the summer. And it fits with the Parfums de Rosine brand of pretty, pretty rose perfumes.
