Parfums de Rosine Majalis EDP Perfume Review

Parfums de Rosine Majalis

Parfums de Rosine Majalis is a perfume inspired by rose majalis AKA cinnamon rose (which I hear has no scent). Majalis is a spicy rose. I think of it almost like a rose hot toddy – rose, cinnamon, honey with warmth.

Majalis opens with a glimmer of citrus and spices, reminding me of an orange pomander except replace the clove with cinnamon sticks. Majalis is a sticky honey and cinnamon spice. The rose in this is like dried rose petals steeped in mulled cider (or a hot toddy with cinnamon instead of clove). It dries down to a honeyed amber with cooler spices like coriander.

Cinnamon is usually a very tricky note for me but I enjoy it in Majalis. Majalis is one of those warm, amber florals that I want to wear in cooler weather. Instead of smelling too holiday-ish, it smells like apple cider or a hot toddy with florals.

Kate Moss

Notes listed include bergamot, mandarin orange, grapefruit, nutmeg, cinnamon, rose, jasmine, black pepper, pink pepper, coriander, vetiver, sandalwood, cedar, amber and musk. Launched 2013. PERFUMER – François Robert

Give Majalis a try if you like honeyed scents or spicy, cinnamon scents. Or if you like perfumes like DSH Perfumes Mahjoun, M. Micallef Le Parfum Denis Durand, Givenchy Organza Indecence, Viktoria Minya Hedonist, Hermes Hermessence Ambre Narguile and/or Parfums Marly Oajan. Majalis is unisex.

Projection and longevity are average.

Majalis comes in two sizes with prices ranging from $135-$175 at Beautyhabit.Samples are also available purchase.

Victoria’s Final EauPINIONCinnamon honey. It’s a warm “hot toddy” rose that should warm you up on a cool night.

  1. First thoughts: OOOH, THAT BOTTLE!

The perfume sounds lovely, too–I really like cinnamon in perfume but it can be really hard to find ones that don’t smell cheap. I’d love to try this one out!

    1. The bottle is so pretty. I love the colors used with it.

Cinnamon is tricky for me because sooo many come across as a holiday Yankee candle, like you said “cheap”. Which is a shame because real cinnamon actually smells great!
