Perfume Deals Roundup – November 2018

I haven’t posted one of these in a long time (a year to be exact) but apparently cooler weather makes me want to shop more. I find myself on a lot of sites and unfortunately (fortunately?) I have come across some deals. I thought I would share them with you since being a perfume blogger is also being an enabler.

There really isn’t a theme for this month other than “stuff I’ve been thinking about”:

Carolina Herrera Good Girl Perfume Review

Carolina Herrera Good Girl

Mainstream Monday – Sniffing a Popular Perfume

I tried to jump right in and review Carolina Herrera Good Girl, but I realize I have a few things to say that aren’t directly related to how the perfume smells. The first being that as I have already ranted in a By Kilian perfume review years ago, but I truly hate these old-fashioned notions of “good” or “bad” girls and all of the patriarchal baggage around it. So, I hate the name of this perfume with… Continue reading | 6 Comments

EauPen Thread – Brands That Don’t Work for You

Chanel Cristalle
Is there a brand of perfumes that don’t really “click” with you?
I think many of us have a brand that we’ve tried but never really connected with us. It’s not about the perfumes. It’s us. Something about their style doesn’t work for us for whatever reason.

Ormonde Jayne Tsarina Perfume Review

Ormonde Jayne Tsarina

Ormonde Jayne Tsarina is supposed to be the brand’s “opulent” fragrance, the brand itself describes it as a “powerhouse” with imagery of brocade, furs and jewels. I found this interesting because I’d never use the word “powerhouse” to describe a Ormonde Jayne perfume despite many of my descriptions/review of Ormonde Jayne perfumes that come across as “powerhouse”. White Gold, a jasmine soliflore, smells like jewels and wealth. Ta’if, an oriental rose, is a perfume that never ceases to gain me a few… Continue reading | 2 Comments

AERIN Lauder Amber Musk Perfume Review

Aerin Amber Musk perfume

Mainstream Monday – Sniffing a Popular Perfume

I’ve said it before that the AERIN line by Estee Lauder confuses me. I don’t get why they didn’t make it a separate line that has nothing to do with Estee Lauder. When I get past this, I still don’t really “get” the line, but that’s because the brand isn’t really for people like me. This aesthetic, like that of Jo Malone London, just doesn’t appeal to me. But, that doesn’t mean that… Continue reading | 8 Comments
