I think Pacifica makes great fragrances for the money. For years I’ve been using their perfumes and bath/body products. They have expanded the brand over the years to include cruelty-free cosmetics and facial skincare. I haven’t tried their makeup until now!
Pacifica’s most recent mascara launch is Dream Big Lash Extending Mascara.
The Claims: Pacifica is calling this a “7-in-1” mascara: lash serum, length, lift, volume, conditioning, rich color and 2-in-1 brush. It volumizes with plant fibers and conditions with a peptide. Like the rest of the Pacifica line, this is cruelty-free and vegan.
The Brush & Packaging: The packaging is adorable. It’s unicorns! The brush is one of those plastic molded ones with a bit of flex. Now, here’s what is unusual about this one – it’s adjustable. When twisted, it contracts making it a shorter or longer (in length) brush. This constriction causes the bristles to become closer together. Other brands have wands that are adjustable like this such as Too Cool for School’s Dinoplatz Escalator, CK One Color Mascara and Buxom Amplified Lash. One setting is for length, the other is for volume.
The Color – Black Magic: Deep, inky black with a slightly glossy finish.
My Experience: My lashes are thick and short. They do not hold a curl well. I’ve given up on finding a mascara that gives me “false” lashes and when I want drama, I wear false lashes. I like wetter formulas because they tend to clump less and are more buildable. I also wear contacts so I don’t like things that flake (which means I dislike most “fiber” mascaras and dryer formulas).
This formula is very wet. Because it takes time to dry, it’s buildable without clumping. For my eye shape, I do not find it messy but I imagine it could be because it’s really wet. The formula wears all day without flaking or smudging. It doesn’t irritate my eyes and is easily removed at night with soap and water.
As you can see, it does make a difference. Above I have it applied with one coat set at the lengthening setting and another coat set at volumizing. The color is dark and glossy. It lengthens my lashes without clumping. So, I’m happy!
Who May Like This Mascara? Anyone that likes a wetter, more natural finish mascara for daily wear that is buildable. Wetter formulas are usually better for folks with already thick lashes. I’d say if you like formulas like Clinique Naturally Glossy or Maybelline Great Lash, which are wetter, this one would be a good pick/replacement. The brush is more like YSL Volume Effet Faux Cils Babydoll, Bobbi Brown Lash Glamour Extreme or Clinique High Impact Extreme (or the ones I mentioned above that have the adjustable brush).
I’ve only been using this mascara for a week so I can’t comment on how it “ages” (like how quickly the tube dries out, etc). I also can’t comment on any of the long-term effects of the serum. But, I can say that this mascara doesn’t leave my lashes feeling crunchy or dry. Overall, I’m happy with this mascara for daily wear. I’ll probably end up buying it in the future.

Thank you for sharing my review <3 Glad you love this mascara too! It's awesome!
You’re welcome 🙂
I got one of their lipsticks in an ipsy bag a couple of months ago and it was so, so, so drying. My coworkers who also received it said the same thing but this mascara sounds good – I might give it a try.
I haven’t tried any of their other cosmetics or skincare. I do think they have some good fragrances for the money!
If you like a wetter formula, it’s worth trying.
I liked their BB illuminating cream. It’s great under a full coverage foundation and dry skin. I like to use it on my patients under going Chemotherapy for a little lift in complexion. I love how the wet formula mascaras look but I’m usually not good with these. I love the packaging and I think the line offers value on most products. I will try this. Thanks!
That’s the one with no tint but has “illumination”, right? I saw it on Ulta’s site last night and was curious.
Wet mascaras are either something you love or hate. They look different but they also are a bit of pain to wait and dry (no sneezing!)
The packaging is super cute.
