Odin 03 Century is inspired by ancient Cypress but of course, has the modern feel of an Odin fragrance. Odin describes Century as a “modern interpretation of the chypre family”. I’d call it an “amber chypre” or a “modern amber”.
Century opens as an astringent, leathery birch with a cool mint. From my description, you’d think that Century smells harsh but it isn’t. Under this there is a roundness and smootheness. There is a smokiness with powdered, smoldering amber incense. The “heart” is a sweeter vetiver, not green or grassy but more dried and milled into a powder or like incense. Being an EDT, the top and middle fades rather quickly and leaves me with a sweetness. It’s a sweet patchouli-amber. But, it does keep some of the chypre-ness at the base. I do get the moss but the moss wears very faintly on my skin.
The overall feel of Century is very modern especially if you compare to other popular powdery ambers of the past. And compared to old-fashioned chypres, it’s a very modern fragrance.
Notes listed include silver birch, cypress, forest mint, smoky vetiver, liquid myrrh, patchouli, black musk, dry oak moss, and true amber. PERFUMER – Kevin Verspoor
Give Century a try if you like amber or incense perfumes or fragrances like Illuminum Piper Leather, Lubin Idole de Lubin, Nez a Nez Ambre a Sade, Kilian Incense Oud, and/or Frapin 1697. Personally, I find Century to be more masculine because of the top notes and smokiness. It can be unisex but I feel it’s more of a masculine amber.
I feel the scent has average projection and above average longevity. I can smell one spray on my skin all day. And it’s labeled as an EDT…
The 3.4 oz EDT of Odin 03 Century retails for $125 and is available at Candles Off Main.
Victoria’s Final EauPINION – A modern “amber chypre“. It’s very easy to wear. There’s something I really like about it but I don’t see myself buying it.

For some reason, I’m getting no sound on your video, although sound is okay on other YouTube videos.
Thanks for letting me know. Damn technology! 😉
You’re welcome! And I’m sure you know this, but it’s fixed now. 🙂
I’m with you — loads of ambers lately. I like the haircolor analogy for the different characters of amber.
The good thing about amber is that it is versatile. But, I hope the industry doesn’t give me amber burnout!
