Not Soap Radio Walking the Red Carpet Solid Perfume Review

Not Soap Radio Walking the Red Carpet

Not Soap Radio has a cute collection of 9 solid “trans-portable” perfumes called “I’m not here, I’m really…” somewhere awesome. The line is affordable and is FAA approved travel-sized. I’m not here, I’m really Walking the Red Carpet is the glamour girl in the collection.

Walking the Red Carpet opens as a lemony rose with tart, fruity currant sharpness. This gives the illusion of a living rose. There’s a bit of green dewiness with that distinct sour currant. The fragrance smells like a bouquet of roses. Lively, energetic, Miss America waving roses. It smells like cut florist roses.

The packaging is simple and is housed in a plastic container. The texture of this solid is  harder than others, not clumpy. It takes some body heat to get it to slip. It wears like a solid perfume: linear and close to the skin. It’s base is macadamia oil, coconut oil, jojoba oil and beeswax. This also doubles as a hair pomade! I’m using it as beautifully scented cuticle cream as well.

Notes listed include black currant leaf, black currant, red currant, Bulgarian rose and jasmine.

Give I’m Really Walking the Red Carpet a try if your like fresh floral scents or perfumes like Penhaligon’s LP 9 for her, Annick Goutal Quel Amour!, Demeter Flower Show and/or YSL Baby Doll. Try it if you like fruity roses or the “hiss” of blackcurrant.

This solid perfume retails for $15 and is available at Not Soap Radio. Other products like a dry oil, body polish and body wash are available in this fruity-rose fragrance.

Victoria’s Final EauPINIONA green, living rose with tart, fruity currant. It’s a florist red rose.

    1. I never got to try CdG Red Series Rose but I was told it was a “freshly cut rose”. Solid perfumes aren’t my go-to perfumes because I like something with more sillage and I’m not crazy about the texture.
However, I do like the simplicity of this scent and I’m sure the bath products are great. Maybe it’s a way to get a budget CdG scent without conquering your phobia, lol.

    1. I used to really love solids at one point in time when I had to “sneak” wearing perfume to my job. This job required crazy amounts of traveling too. Now sprays are more my speed and fit with my lifestyle. But, this is an awesome cuticle cream 😉
Every year I go through this rose kick from about now until late March. Rose is great because it can be so many different things. I think this is a great one for “fresh” or fruity-rose without being all fruit. It smells “red” and freshly cut.
I’m really, really interested in the shower products in this scent. Excuse me TLC, but I want a scrub.

  1. Thanks for the heads up on this adorable line. It sounds so peppy and perky, which I like in a rose scent. “Miss America waving” is about as far from my personality as can be, but I won’t knock channeling that energy through scent for a few hours.
    JoanElaine recently posted..O Tannenbaum!

    1. I’m the complete opposite as well. Whatever the antonym of “effervescent”, that’s me. BUT I like this scent because it’s a fresh rose, inexpensive and I’m a sucker for currant. And it’s a solid so it’s only around for a few hours 😉
