Parfums des Beaux Arts by DSH has recently launched Cuir et Champignon EDP (leather and mushroom), a limited edition perfume. From the notes listed, this sounds like my dream perfume. You guys know I love mushrooms and I’ve been searching for the perfect mushroom perfume. For many years, Dawn Spencer Hurwitz has been working on the concept of a mushroom perfume. I really don’t know why mushroom notes aren’t used more frequently in perfume, but anyways… I’m delighted that DSH’s concept is now a reality. This one is based on cepes, in my world these are called porcini and they have such a rich, dark aroma. I can not wait to see what DSH has done with this decadent note!
Notes listed include: bergamot, clary sage, galbanum, neroli, wild chamomile, cepes (porcini), clove bud, gardenia, honey, orris, sandalwood, tuberose, castoreum, civet, guiacwood, cedarwood, Indonesian vetiver, leather, peru balsam, and tobacco absolute.
Cuir et Champignon is more of a masculine scent but you know with those notes that both women and men can wear this scent. Many sizes are available. An 1 oz. EDP spray retails for $100. This scent is available at DSH’s on-line boutique.
