April is Autism Awareness Month. It’s the perfect time to feature NEST Blue Garden Candle. Proceeds of Blue Garden are donated to Autism Speaks, the nation’s largest autism science and advocacy organization.
When I’m not huffing perfumes or obsessing over vintage makeup looks, I’m a speech therapist. I like to think that autism/social language as my “specialty” since my favorite group to work with is children and young teens with autism and autism spectrum disorders and their families. With 1 in 110 children (1 in 70 males) diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders, there’s a reason why I am busy reading the most current autism research and social language therapy methods. I love helping those with autism speak 🙂
Let’s talk about this candle. Blue Garden is an aquatic floral that isn’t soapy. This candle does a wonderful job of representing April with spring floral notes of hyacinth and forget-me-nots. Like real life hyacinths, Blue Garden can be overwhelming with its strong floral aroma. Blue Garden smells like hyacinths and throws like them too. Blue Garden has an aquatic component, reminding me of dewy garden hyacinths. There’s humidity in this floral blend. The overall effect is a lush, cool floral. I really like Blue Garden. It reminds me of spring and it’s optimistic. It’s a great candle for what Autism Speaks stands for.
Notes listed include blue hydrangea, hyacinth, forget-me-nots, fresh green notes, and dew drop accord.
Like all of the NEST candles that I have tried, Blue Garden burns evenly. It has a lot of throw. A small candle scents my entire downstairs. I recommend this candle for anyone that wants a home fragrance or candle that smells like hyacinth.
The 8.1 oz candle of Blue Garden retails for $32 and is available at Candles Off Main.
