Morgana Cryptoria Pastel Lipstick Review & Swatches

Morgana's Cryptoria Pastel Vegan Lipstick Review

A few months ago I made my first Morgana Cryptoria order because I have been looking for pastel lip colors. Last winter Morgana launched a vegan Pastel lipstick collection. I was thrilled. I ordered the shades Peach Daiquiri and Icy Mint. My only regret is that I didn’t order the entire collection.

Morgana Cryptoria Vegan Pastel Lipstick Swatches

1- Peach Daiquiri Pastel Lipstick – As you can see this is completely nude on me. This is a super pale peach with a faint pearl shimmer. Doesn’t it look like I could use this as an under eye highlight/concealer? Well, I’m not doing that but what I’m saying is that this is a perfect nude for me. The formula has full coverage. This is awesome but it makes this light shade difficult to work with. Lips must be smooth or all flakes will be exaggerated. This is the case with any full coverage light nude shade. I use this shade for exaggerated mod 1960’s inspired looks. This formula has a faint peach aroma/flavor.

2 – Icy Mint Pastel Lipstick – This is a pale and icy mint green, pearlier than Peach Daiquiri. I love this color. I rarely wear it alone because it really washes me out. If I do wear it straight from the tube, I wear a heavy black smoky eye. I prefer to wear this shade layered over lipstick or lip liners. It looks awesome with red, plum, or black lip liner. This shade is also full coverage and light. So, it isn’t super easy to work with either. Lips have to be smooth for this shade to look its best. Icy Mint has a mint aroma/flavor.

Both shades have great staying power and aren’t drying. I’d compare both to MAC Lipstick Satin Finish. I didn’t wear either of these much this winter. I tend to wear dark or red lipstick in the winter. However, now that spring is approaching, I have been wearing these fun shades.

There are 7 shades in the Pastel Collection. Some are on clearance and I hope they aren’t being discontinued. (I should order them while I can).  I’ve spent years trying to replace pastel Sephora Brand lipsticks from France that I had years and years ago. I used those pastels alone and to mix with other lipsticks to add warmth/coolness and lightness. And tomorrow Lime Crime is launching an almost identical pastel lipstick collection for Spring 2011. Dominate the market Morgana Cryptoria! I have a hunch that we’re going to see more pastel lippies in fashion mags and on the Urban Outfitter crowd.

These vegan lipsticks retail for about $9 and are available at Morgana’s Cryptoria. IMPORTANT – Icy Mint has been recalled. If you have purchased this product go to this link for more info.

  1. I just received the pastel lippie in Wisteria. It is really gorgeous!

I didn’t even own a true red lipstick, but some of the classic looks you have done made me want to try to pull it off. I got the Twinkling Rubies sample. I love it as well.

    1. I really want Wisteria. I love the name too. How are you wearing it?
I want Icy Lemon too to layer over reds.
I’m embarrassed by how many red lipsticks I own. And I have a massive orange/bold coral collection too. Revlon does red really well. I like Fire & Ice, Cherries in the Snow, and Matte Really Red…just in case you want to add a red to your collection.

  2. Love them but I don’t think I’d get much wear out them unless I mixed with darker shades. These would look so silly on me unless I was going for the go-go dancer look 😉

    1. I will totally purchase. I love how it builds volume at the base of the lashes to make them look thicker but without any clumps!
