This is such a 60’s Italian cinema look to me: the bronzer, dark eye makeup, and the dramatic hat. There’s some modern appeal to this look. All of the 2000s has been about smoky eyes and pale lips. Here’s what I did to get a similiar look to Daniela’s.
EYES: Because this look has heavy eye makeup, I’m starting with the eyes first. I filled in brows with the waxy, e.l.f. Eyebrow Lifter & Filler Pencil in Ash. This pencil is waxy and gives a similar glossy to finish like Daniela’s. I applied a thin coat of e.l.f. Essentials Eyelid Primer and let it dry. For this look, I am using the shadow in Dior 5-Colour Eyeshadow Palette in Smoky Design, a palette that I rarely use for some reason. I applied the matte black “liner” shade with a brush. I applied it from lash line to crease. With eyes open, I blended the shade in an arch. I applied a teeny bit of the shimmery gray shade in the inner crease. I then applied a bit more of the matte black in the outer “v”. From the crease to the brows, I blended in the bronzer that I’m using listed below. Under the brows a soft angle brush, I applied the shimmery white shade. With a liner brush, I applied Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner in Black Ink, a black gel liner, to the top lash line winging out. Now to the hard part…I took the same gel liner and brush and lined the bottom lash line thinly. I curled lashes and applied two coats of Hourglass Film Noir Mascara in Onyx. I then applied Ardell Duralashes.
FACE: With a tissue pat off any black fallout. With fingers, I applied Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra in Buff 2. Under the eyes, I applied Covergirl Simply Ageless Concealer in Corrector. With Sephora Bronzer Brush, I applied NARS Bronzer in Laguna like a “T” and on the cheeks. This is the bronzer that I used on the eyes too. With my mark Powder Brush, I applied Cover FX Setting Powder in Translucent to absorb oil. With a blush brush, I applied a generous amount of Lancôme Blush Subtil in Miel Glace, a warm brown with a hint of peach and shimmer.
LIPS: Lips are frosty, pale, but not too pale. I applied directly from the tube Victoria’s Secret Perfect Lipstick in Whisper, a light nude with a hint of peach and shimmer. Over this I applied a small amount of mark Glow Baby Glow Lip Gloss in Player, a warm brown shimmer for a bit of shine. I “smooched” lips together to blend the shades.
Now for a fragrance. I’m thinking something modern but with an older, glamorous feel. And that is Natori EDP, a dark and sultry chypre.
You can tell I’m a bit sick in the look above. Sorry about that 🙂 But, you get the idea. I’m feeling better today, feeling like allergies are on their way. I hope better for the weekend. Do you have any plans? So far, I don’t. I’m still working on organizing the basement. I’d also like to go fragrance shopping one day to refresh my memory of which Penhaligon’s that I like. Have a good weekend!
