More 1950’s Fashion – Get the Makeup Look of Elaine Stewart

Isn’t this just the “classic” makeup look? I see this picture of the breathtaking Elaine Stewart and I get the urge to wear red lipstick daily (not that I don’t already have that urge). Here’s what I did to get this elegant 1950’s makeup look:

FACE: With my Elizabeth Arden Foundation Brush, I applied Lancôme Absolue Makeup in Ecru 10. Under the eyes to cover up dark circles, I applied Covergirl Simply Ageless Concealer in Corrector. Down the nose on the applies of the cheeks, I blended my favorite highlighter, Benefit High Beam, a sheer pink shimmer. With my mark Powder Brush, I dusted on Victoria’s Secret Pressed Mineral Powder in Medium 10. This powder has a bit of shimmer that I like, very subtle shimmer. With a blush brush, I applied Covergirl Cheekers Blush in Classic Pink, a light pink with silver shimmer.

EYES: I love 50’s brows. Fill in brows with a pencil. I use Lancôme Le Crayon Poudre Brow Pencil in Natural Blonde. Set brows with clear mascara if they are stubborn. Eye makeup is minimal. I applied my concealer to my lids to neutralize redness. I applied my pressed powder, the Victoria’s Secret powder, to the lids with a large eyeshadow brush. I closely lined the top lash line with a black eyeliner, Wet n Wild Coloricon Eyeliner in Black Black. I curled lashes and applied 2 coats of Hard Candy Ginormous Mascara in Carbon (not pictured) to top and bottom lashes. I applied Ardell Duralashes. The eyes are all about clean brows and full lashes, two things I have to work very hard for!

LIPS: The lips make this look. I applied a lip liner, Avon Ultra Luxury Lip Liner in Neutral. I usually use a red lip liner,  but for this look I went neutral and it turned out well. From the tube, I applied Milani Lipstick in Scarlet, a red with super fine gold shimmer. You need a red with shimmer in it for this look.

Now for a fragrance. I’m going with a rich floral, Creed Vanisia. I’m starting to love the feminine Creeds again.

Yeah! It’s Friday! Not that I have any weekend plans. I feel like sleeping in. I think we may celebrate Valentine’s on Saturday. Not that we “celebrate” it, but I’ve been dieting since January first and I haven’t had chocolate since the 1st week of January. I need a “chocolate holiday”. I will go all Hulk if I don’t get chocolate on or by the 14th. No joke. So, what about you? Do you have any romantic weekend plans?
