Monsillage Aviation Club EDP Perfume Review

Monsillage Aviation Club

When writing about perfume, I often wonder how I even have so much content. Hasn’t it all been said before? Well, yes and no. Even with bounteous launches, I still have things to say (yes, even I’m surprised by this). There are some perfumes that I don’t really have anything to say about and they don’t usually get reviewed. It may not even be that they are “bad” but that there isn’t much to say about them. Now, there are some perfumes that I don’t really have anything to say about because they are so good, so satisfying. Monsillage Aviation Club is one of these. Instead of exhaustion, my lack of words is from a place of admiration. Aviation Club *just* smells good, really good.

Aviation Club opens with green, crushed fig leaves and tomato leaves. It’s green but it’s not overly green. There’s more to it than leaves. It has a “cool iron gate” accord with a sweet tobacco. It starts to wear as an amazing leather and tobacco with astringent greens. It’s bittersweet, both warm and cool. And this where I don’t feel like describing it anymore. I just want to smell it. It’s this warm, woodsy blend of pipe tobacco, vetiver, leather and black coffee. It’s cozy yet sophisticated.

Really, all I want to say is that Aviation Club smells good and I wish David would wear this all the time. I want to smell it on another person, because, duh, I must test other perfumes to write about 😉

Notes listed include green notes, metallic notes, woody notes, amber, leather, tobacco, cognac and coffee. PERFUMER – Isabelle Michaud

Give Aviation Club a try if you like tobacco or leather scents. Or if you like perfumes like Penhaligon’s Endymion, Banana Republic Wildblue Noir, Rochas Man, CB I Hate Perfume 2nd Cumming, Eau d’Italie Bois d’Ombrie and/or Sonoma Scent Studio Tabac Aurea. It’s a unisex scent but it does lean more traditionally masculine.

Projection and longevity are average.

The 1.7 oz retails for $95 at Twisted Lily and Indigo Perfumery. Samples are also available for purchase.

Victoria’s Final EauPINIONBittersweet tobacco and leather. It’s soooo good. If you love perfume, this brand should be on your radar.
