Weekly Cheap Secret:
After chatting with BotO‘s Dee, I decided to bust out some of my favorite Milani and orange lipsticks to swatch. I love orange lipsticks, even before they became a fad 😉 And I love Milani lip products. Unfortunately, I haven’t found any local vendors that carry the line since I moved. I hate this. It really is a great line. Here’s my review and swatch of Milani Color Perfect Lipstick in Coral Bora-Bora.
The Color: Coral Bora-Bora is a medium peachy coral with silver frost. This is a great “everyday” peach, not as orange as most corals, and it is a good balance of pink. I love this shade because it has a late 1950’s vibe. I need a nail color to match 😉
The Formula: The formula is opaque and one coat does it. It’s a good formula for the price. It isn’t long-wearing (I’m not a fan of long-wearing formulas anyways). This Milani formula is longer wearing than a gloss or their moisturizing formulas. The formula itself isn’t drying. However, the frost in this formula may emphasize lip flakies and imperfections. Like with all lipsticks, make sure lips are exfoliated before applying. Milani Color Perfect Lipsticks are scented, almost floral. This may bother some wearers.
The Packaging: The packaging is good, a “gold” plastic. Cap doesn’t fall off in my purse, etc. The actual lipstick is fauceted and I like that, reminds me of Sisley.
So, here’s me wearing the lipstick. I’m wearing super minimal makeup: brown cake eyeliner, mascara, and Nars Blush in Orgasm. I think it’s a good summer/spring “everyday” or work-friendly look.
Milani Color Perfect Lipstick retails for about $5 and are available at Cherry Culture.
