I haven’t found an eye cream that I love. At this stage of my life eye gels are what I want. My eye concerns include darkness and puffiness. I have awful allergies and really all I can do about it is apply concealer. I think I seem to prefer eye gels or serums because I assume they help with puffiness. They usually have a cooling sensation that tricks me into believing that it is “working”. Anyways, I’m finding that I need a bit more moisture these days. This helps my concealer apply evenly in the morning and prevents any “scales”. This is where Mario Badescu Hyaluronic Eye Cream comes in.
Mario Badescu Hyaluronic Eye Cream is a pretty simple formula. It doesn’t have a fragrance. It’s a lightweight cream, almost like a gel-cream because it is so light, OK, that’s my opinion. This is awesome because I remember why I don’t use creams, they are greasy and irritate my sensitive eyes. MB Hyaluronic Eye Cream doesn’t stray. It stays in place and doesn’t “spread” around the face like heavier creams I’ve used in the past from Lancôme, Chanel, and Khiels. The Mario Badescu absorbs fairly quickly. I’m using this product at night, but I may use it during the day in the winter when my skin gets dry. I’ve noticed that my concealer is applying smoother in the mornings. Mario Badescu is a “basic” eye cream. It only exsists to be gentle and to provide moisture. It doesn’t claim to rid one of fine lines, dark circles, or puffiness. It doesn’t claim to perform any eye area miracles. I’m fine with that. At this time, I want something to be gentle and to moisturize. This product does that.
Who may like Mario Badescu Hyaluronic Eye Cream? Anyone wanting a light-weight to medium-weight eye cream to relive and prevent dryness. I recommend this is an eye cream for people in the early 20’s to late 30’s since it doesn’t claim to perform any miracles. This cream keeps the eye area looking supple. I also think this is a good cream for those that wear contacts or don’t like the feel of greasy eye creams. I think those with more “mature” concerns could use this cream if they decided to use it over a targeted serum. I really think this is a good “basic” eye cream for those not wanting to splurge. It’s a good quality product for the price.
Who won’t like Mario Badescu Hyaluronic Eye Cream? Don’t try this if you are looking for eye area miracles. There are other products on the market claiming to take care of your concerns. This cream will only get rid of lines if they are from dryness. (And no cream completely gets rid of lines, sorry guys). I don’t recommend this product for excessively oily skin types, go for a gel or serum.
At this stage of my life (I’m 26), this is a great eye cream for me. I’m still looking for the perfect gel to wake up my tired allergy eyes in the morning, but Mario Badescu Hyaluronic Eye Cream is a great cream for my nighttime skincare routine. I also like the price. I’ve paid $50+ for eye creams that I could barely stand. The reviews I’ve linked to below claim that this cream is very heavy. I can see that if you are in their age range, have oily skin, and haven’t used a cream before. Remember, not everybody needs an eye cream…save up your money for when you do. Then you can buy the heavy duty stuff ! I’m using this because my eye area is dry, not because I think I’m supposed to have an eye cream in my skincare routine.
An 1/2 oz. retails for $18. Mario Madescu Hyaluronic Eye Cream is available from Mario Badescu’s website.
