L’Artisan Parfumeur L’eau de L’Artisan EDT Perfume Review

L'Artisan L'Eau de L'Artisan

L’Artisan says that L’Eau de L’Artisan is a “scent for lazy summer days’. And since that’s what August is and my plans for the month includes being as lazy as possible, I thought it would be a good time to review this.

L’eau de L’Artisan is a light, fresh, green fragrance. It smells like green grass and lemon verbena with crisp herbs. Mint. Verbena. Basil. It’s like an herb garden with lemon peel. The heart is like a mix of musk and cool, green herbs. As it dries down, L’eau de L’Artisan goes in an unexpected direction. It gets a little brine-y. It’s like salty seaweed and green grass. This comes across like green tea salt¹. This is what makes L’eau de L’Artisan different than all the other traditional “eaus” on the market.

This is a good fragrance for lazy summer days or reminders of lazy summer days.

Notes listed include lemon, verbena, mint, basil, fresh-cut grass, and seaweed. Launched in 1993. PERFUMER – Olivia Giacobetti

Give L’Eau de L’Artisan a try if you like fresh herbal scents. Or if you like perfumes like Jo Malone London Lime Basil & Mandarin, Dior Eau Sauvage, Sisley Eau de Campagne, Mistral Verbena Flower, Chanel Pour Monsieur and/or the Guerlain colognes. L’Eau de L’Artisan is unisex; however, it does remind me of some classically marketed as masculine scents (and those are unisex in my opinion).

L’eau de L’Artisan is one of those that smells better when it is sprayed liberally. A dab isn’t enough to do it justice. It needs to be sprayed. It’s an EDT so projection and longevity are below average.

The 3.4 oz bottle retails for $145 at Beautyhabit. Samples are also available for purchase.

Victoria’s Final EauPINIONAn herb garden with saltwater. It’s Giacobetti playing with classic “eau de colognes”. I like it but I have to be in the mood for it…and that’s usually on a lazy summer day.

¹Which is a actually a thing. And it’s one of my favorite things.

    1. Now that I know what hot weather is like, my favorites are changing, lol. I now want bottles of stuff like L’eau de L’Artisan around! 🙂

  1. Thanks for linking to my Tea Foodie green tea salt recipe! It definitely is “a thing” and it’s fun to see tea used as a scent/flavor comparison to something like perfume. Cool!
