To celebrate their West Coast expansion to The Four Seasons Los Angeles at Beverly Hills, Krigler created a perfume inspired by the glamour of California. 215 Charming California is a fresh citrus that’s like sunbathing in Californian sunshine.
Charming California opens with a fresh, bitter citrus that reminds me of a juicy pomelo. It’s like fresh, tart pomelo and grapefruit with green leaves. It’s surprisingly realistic. The heart of Charming California is a clean green floral – a mix of delicate blossoms like lily of the valley with a crisp green tea. It dries down to a slightly “chlorine”, poolside green tea with astringent woods.
Notes listed include coriander, orange blossom, green tea, Bulgarian rose, jasmine, lily of the valley, cedar and sandalwood. Launched in 2015. PERFUMER – Ben Krigler
Give Charming California a try if you like citrus florals or green tea scents. Or if you like perfumes like Hermès Pamplemousse Rose, Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Pamplelune, Fresh Hesperides, Ormonde Jayne Osmanthus and/or L’Occitane Thé Vert au Jasmin. This perfume is marketed as unisex (all perfumes are) but it does lean more traditionally feminine.
Charming California is a “light” fragrance in that it’s an airy citrus floral. Projection and longevity are average.
215 Charming California comes in two sizes with the 1.7 oz retailing for $220 at Krigler. Samples are also available for purchase.
Victoria’s Final EauPINION – Grapefruit green tea. It’s pretty and light. These usually aren’t “me” fragrances but I do see this working well in warmer climates, like SoCal.
